Discover the Mission!
Together we’ve ventured into the deep, mysterious forests of an unreached people, bringing the light of God’s Word to a place it has never gone before. We came prepared with Bibles, inventions, and a message of true freedom through Jesus.
But now, something’s gone wrong.
The Wordsmith, our lead translator and guide, has vanished and is now being held captive in the ancient city of Aspire by the very people we came to reach—the Hallowers.
That’s where you come in.
Your quest is urgent:
Receive your mission training at Basecamp, learn to carry the Gospel to unreached people, and help rescue our missing team member.
Join our Quest Crew for a five-day missional adventure like no other. This VBS will awaken children to the power, purpose, and global reach of God’s Word—revealing how Jesus alone fulfilled what was required, so we can be truly set free.
Each day brings Gospel truth that breaks the chains of sin and prepares young hearts for the greatest mission of all: knowing Him and making Him known.
Are you ready to decode the message, deliver the Word, and carry the freedom of Christ to the world?
Report to Basecamp
Strap in, Questers! Your mission starts at Basecamp!

Each day, kids will encounter the inspiring stories of real men and women who carried the Gospel to the ends of the earth—often at great personal cost. Their courage, creativity, and faith will connect kids to God’s global mission and show them what it means to live boldly for Christ.
The Wordsmith Imprisoned Drama
Something mysterious is unfolding in the Hallower city… The Wordsmith has been captured, and strange riddles are the only way to unlock the truth. With every scene, kids will learn how the Gospel fulfills what was once hidden—and how Jesus breaks every chain.
The Shop Adventure Animation
Back at the Shop, Ben, Beth, and the Wordkeeper are on a quest of their own—decoding messages, uncovering inventions, and racing to complete the mission. This daily animated series continues the story, drops new clues, and draws kids deeper into the world of Freedom Quest.
VBS Curriculum

Is this curriculum appropriate for young children?
Freedom Quest is age appropriate, spiritually grounded, and carefully written to respect the developmental stages of young children. We include leader guidance on handling gospel conversations with care, especially with impressionable children, and provide follow-up tools for families.
What ages is Freedom Quest designed for?
The curriculum is designed for children entering first through sixth grade.
How do I purchase the kit?
You can purchase the Freedom Quest VBS Kit through our online store. Choose between:
- Digital Download License (instant access)
- Physical Kit (includes a USB drive and printed guides)
- Church License Add-ons for larger teams or multi-campus use
Pricing is based on your expected attendance and licensing needs.
What Bible translation does your curriculum use?
The English Standard Version (ESV) is utilized throughout and noted as such.
Is there a statement of faith or doctrinal overview?
Yes. Freedom Quest is built on a non-denominational, evangelical Christian foundation with a clear focus on the authority of Scripture, the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ, and the Great Commission.
Do you include altar calls or scripted invitations?
Because each church holds its own convictions about how to guide children in responding to the gospel, we do not script altar calls or public invitations to receive Christ into our lessons or assemblies, though we strongly encourage church leaders to include them where appropriate. We trust you to prayerfully determine when and how to invite children to make a decision for salvation, based on your church’s beliefs and your team’s wisdom in shepherding young hearts.
Our curriculum does provide:
- Clear gospel teaching each day
- Guidance and suggestions for when, where, and how to offer altar calls and/or one-on-one response conversations as desired
- Resources for Quest Captains and leaders to follow up with children one-on-one
Our goal is to equip churches to teach the truth faithfully, knowing that the Holy Spirit does the saving work and that your team is best positioned to walk with children and their families as they grow in understanding, faith, and obedience.
Is the content editable or customizable?
Yes! Your license includes access to fully editable files:
- Customizable Word docs for administrative needs
- Unbranded slides and media for church use
- Downloadable logos and clip art
We encourage churches to adapt the content to match their unique setting while maintaining theological integrity.
What volunteers do we need to present this VBS?
Freedom Quest is designed to scale beautifully for any church, large or small. Every team needs a Director to oversee the event, a few Rotation Leaders (for Bible, crafts, games, and snacks), and Quest Captains to guide small groups of kids through the day. From there, you can expand as your volunteer base allows, adding roles like Drama Team, Music Leaders, Decorating Crew, and Prayer Partners.
If you’re a smaller church, many of these positions can be combined (for example, one leader may oversee both crafts and snacks). Larger churches may assign assistants or co-leaders for each area.
What matters most is that every volunteer understands the mission, helping kids explore God’s Word, discover His truth, and share the good news!
Our “Roles to Fill” guide, included in every kit, walks you through each role and how to adjust for any church size.
In what way does this curriculum include a missions focus?
Each day highlights a different region of the world (Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, Australia, and the islands of the world) and introduces real-life missionaries who carried the gospel to those areas. Children are encouraged to grow in awareness, prayer, and personal mission.
