VBS Curriculum
Scope & Sequence
Each day at GospelWorks is designed to train young missionaries in the gospel. Questers will journey through global regions, encounter stories of real missionaries, and memorize the day’s Freedom Key, Mission Memory Verse, and Romans Road verse through discussion, recitation, and play. Every lesson includes core Bible stories to anchor the day’s message, along with interactive teaching and hands-on illustrations that bring truth to life. These moments help kids not only understand and respond to the full message of salvation but also equip them to share it with others. From Scripture review to the final prayer, each GospelWorks session is packed with truth, clarity, and excitement, showing kids that the Bible isn’t just a book to learn. It’s a mission to live!
Day One
Day 1 - God LOVES me - I FOLLOW God
On Day 1, Questers will discover why we need a Savior by learning how sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 and separated us from God. They'll explore the powerful message of the day's Mission Memory Verse in John 3:16 and see how Jesus, through His birth, life, death, and resurrection, is the only way we can be restored to God. They'll see how each part of Jesus' life was a demonstration of God's LOVE and the only way we can be restored to Him.
Questers will be invited to respond by choosing to FOLLOW Jesus and begin a lifelong journey of faith. As they explore the gospel message and begin their journey along the Romans Road, starting with Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Questers will also begin to understand that others need Jesus too, and that they can play an important part in God's mission to share the good news with the whole world.

- Understanding our sin and need for a Savior
- Love and our redemption are God’s purposes for sending Jesus

The continent of Europe.
Day Two
Day 2 - I LEARN God's Word - to KNOW the Truth
On Day 2, Questers will discover why it's important to learn God's Word to know the truth. Through the story of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11), they'll see how pride led to the scattering of people and the confusion of languages, creating the need for Bible translation. They'll also meet the Bereans (Acts 17:11), who were praised for examining the Scriptures daily to confirm what they heard. Questers will discover how vital it is to LEARN God's Word—not just to hear it but to truly KNOW it in a way that shapes their understanding, transforms their choices, and stays with them wherever they go.
With Psalm 119:105 as their Mission Memory Verse of the day, Questers will explore the many meaningful ways we can engage with God's Word today by reading it, listening to it, watching Bible-based content, and attending services where Scripture is faithfully taught and studied. They'll also continue their journey along the Romans Road by learning Romans 6:23 — understanding that while sin brings death, God offers the free gift of eternal life through Jesus.

Day Three
Day 3 - I will PRAY — I will TRUST in God
On Day 3, Questers will learn that in every season of life, when Jesus calls us, sends us, or when things get hard, we can pray and trust God. Today's Bible lesson weaves together three powerful stories: Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water in Matthew 14; the disciples going out two by two to preach and heal in Matthew 10; and Paul and Silas praying and trusting God while in prison in Acts 16.
These moments remind us that no matter what we face in life, we are never alone. Jesus is always with us, and as the day's Mission Memory Verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, proclaims, we should always PRAY and TRUST in Him. Questers will also continue their journey through the Romans Road by learning Romans 5:8, a powerful reminder that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Day Four
Day 4 - Jesus RESCUED me — now Jesus I will SHARE
On Day 4, Questers will travel through the book of Acts to witness how the power of the gospel confronts false beliefs and transforms lives. In Acts 8, they'll meet Simon the magician, a man who amazed crowds with counterfeit power, until he encountered the truth of Jesus through the preaching of Philip. They'll also follow Philip on a desert road, where he met an Ethiopian official who, once confronted by the gospel, believed and was baptized on the spot!
Through these stories, and the Mission Memory Verse of John 14:6, Questers will see that only Jesus can RESCUE us from sin, igniting their desire to SHARE His truth and transform hearts across every culture. Questers will continue along the Romans Road with Romans 10:9, learning that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.

Day Five
Day 5 - In Jesus, I will GROW — With Jesus I will GO!
On Day 5, Questers will bring their Freedom Quest to a powerful finish by exploring the parable of the sower from Matthew 13:1-23. Jesus teaches that God's Word is like seed, and when it lands in good soil, it grows strong and produces a harvest. As Questers look back on all they've learned, they'll be reminded that following Jesus isn't just a one-time decision—it's a lifelong adventure to GROW deep in His Word and GO boldly with His message to the world.
With Mark 16:15 as their Mission Memory Verse, Questers will be challenged to live out the Great Commission with boldness. The final step on the Romans Road, Romans 10:13, will remind them that "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved", a bold promise and a call to carry the message forward! This final lesson reminds every Quester: the journey doesn't end here… It's just beginning.
